Bank Alfalah Extends CSR Partnership for Financial Inclusion

Bank Alfalah Bangladesh has extended its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh, focusing on education, livelihood development and financial inclusion. Under the renewed partnership, the bank will provide essential educational materials to children participating in SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh’s Alternative Care and Family Strengthening programmes.

The initiative also includes a five-month programme for women in coastal Khulna, designed to strengthen livelihood capabilities and improve financial knowledge. The programme will cover livelihood skills, financial management, savings, banking services and mobile financial services.

The partnership reflects a broader approach to CSR in which financial institutions combine community support with practical financial capability-building. For women in vulnerable communities, knowledge of savings, banking and mobile financial services can help improve access to formal financial systems and support household financial management.

Md. Masud Rana, Deputy National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh, said the partnership aims to support children’s education while helping women develop the skills and confidence needed to build more secure futures for their families.

The partnership was represented by Mustafa Habib E Rabbi, Head of Marketing, Brand, Product, SQ & Strategy at Bank Alfalah Bangladesh; Md. Masud Rana, Deputy National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Bangladesh; and Md. Arman Kabir Mahid, Officer, Corporate Fundraising.

The initiative highlights how banking-sector CSR programmes can combine education, financial literacy, savings awareness and access to digital financial services to support community resilience and financial inclusion.
