Bank of Maharashtra organises Cleanliness Drive

On the 148th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Bank of Maharashtra organised a cleanliness drive at their Lokmangal Building office, and paid tribute to the Father of the Nation. Led by Shri R.P. Marathe, MD and CEO, Bank of Maharashtra, large no of employees of the bank cleaned the main road outside the Head Office at Shivaji Nagar, Pune and pledged to keep the environment clean.

Speaking on the occasion Shri RP. Marathe said, “This year the bank celebrates the theme  ‘Swachchata hi Sewa’ to promote the importance of hygiene in our lives. It is essential for us to understand that creation of wealth and protection of environment coexist, and together they help build a sustainable economy. We hope the bank’s initiative inspires the locals to keep the surroundings clean and beautiful”.

“The banks are also required to clean up the NPA’s and help build a robust banking system. We have been taking efforts constantly in this regard and our performance in the second quarter is indicative of that. The NPA recovery has improved and CASA ratio  remained stable , he further added.

Today also marks the third anniversary of Prime Minister’s flagship programme ‘Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan’ which was launched on October 2, 2014. The bank employees urged the citizen present at the event to help the government in its initiative by keeping their surroundings clean.
