Karnataka GST council asks for lower rates on items of mass consumption

Karnataka minister in the GST council, Byre Gowda, said that the Centre should lower tax on 100 items of mass consumption like Upma, petro products etc.

Gowda mentioned that the recent overhaul in the 28 % tax bracket benefits the middle and upper middle class. There is a strong need for revision in the 18 % and 12 % tax brackets to provide relief to the poor.
