Genpact Launches Agentic AI Suite for Banking

Genpact has launched its Banking Analyst Suite, an enterprise solution that applies agentic artificial intelligence to regulated banking operations, beginning with anti-money laundering investigations.

The first module, Genpact Transaction Monitoring Analyst, is now generally available and is designed to help banks complete routine AML alert investigations faster and more consistently while retaining human oversight and full auditability.

The solution uses multiple AI agents to support the first-level investigation process. These agents assess customer behaviour, analyse transactions, validate customer profiles, review previous alerts and recommend appropriate next steps. Importantly, analysts retain responsibility for final decisions, and the system does not undertake regulated actions without human approval.

Genpact said the solution has been developed using its experience in managing financial crime operations for major institutions, including the review of millions of alerts annually. The objective is to automate repetitive investigative work while allowing compliance professionals to concentrate on higher-risk cases requiring human judgement.

Unlike conventional systems that primarily score or prioritise alerts, Genpact Transaction Monitoring Analyst is designed to complete the first-level investigation workflow and produce a decision-ready recommendation. Each recommendation is supported by documented reasoning and an audit trail that can be reviewed by analysts and compliance teams.

For AML investigations within the scope of the solution, Genpact expects up to 80% reduction in handling time and up to 40% lower total cost of ownership. The company also expects greater consistency and defensibility in investigations through documented rationale and audit trails. Genpact has cautioned that actual outcomes will vary depending on factors such as the client environment, operating model, data quality and implementation scope.

The development comes as banks face increasing transaction-monitoring volumes, more sophisticated financial crime risks and heightened regulatory scrutiny. Compliance teams are therefore under pressure to process large numbers of lower-risk alerts without weakening governance, consistency or regulatory defensibility.

Genpact plans to expand the Banking Analyst Suite into other regulated banking functions, including customer due diligence, screening, fraud management, customer service and additional risk areas. The broader suite is being designed around requirements such as data isolation, governance, information security and integration with existing banking systems.

For institutions already using Genpact’s riskCanvas financial crime platform, the Banking Analyst Suite will operate natively alongside the platform. AMP Limited, the Australia- and New Zealand-based financial services group, is among the first organisations to deploy Genpact Transaction Monitoring Analyst.

The launch illustrates the growing use of agentic AI in highly regulated financial processes, where automation is increasingly being combined with human decision-making, auditability and governance controls rather than operating as a fully autonomous system.
